Healing Qigong

Qigong is translated as ‘The Art of cultivating Vital Energy’.  ‘Qi’ meaning “subtle breath” or “vital energy” and ‘Gong’ meaning “skill” cultivated through steady practice.  Dating back thousands of years, it was first documented in Taoist writings/traditions.  With its focus on cultivating and maintaining personal health.

With flowing movements, meditations, sounds and visualizations for healing.  Qigong does not require special place, clothing or yoga props, mats, bolsters, etc…. This wonderful healing movement meditation incorporates slow-flowing movement with deep rhythmic breathing while maintaining a calm meditative state of mind.

Kundalini Yoga
In this Kundalini class suitable for all levels, we will focus on Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan through the practice of Kriya.  "Kriya" is an orchestrated pattern of movements, sound, pranayam, mudras, and meditation that automatically guide the energies of the body and the mind to a specific result or change of consciousness.  We awaken the kundalini in order to be able to call upon the full potential of the nervous and glandular systems and to balance the subtle system of chakras within the body.
Kundalini yoga derives its name through a focus on awakening kundalini energy through regular practice of meditation, pranayama, chanting mantra and yoga asana. Called by practitioners "the yoga of awareness", it aims "to cultivate the creative spiritual potential of a human to uphold values, speak truth, and focus on the compassion and consciousness needed to serve and heal others.
"The beauty of Kundalini Yoga  is that if you can just physically sit there, fix the automatic rhythm of your pranayam (breath control), add a creative naad (inner sound), your mind becomes focused and balanced.  In one Kriya you can immediately achieve a complete physical, mental, and spiritual balance.  It works so effectively and quickly because of this completeness, balance, and energy."
