Yoga classes help you develop greater body awareness while cultivating calmness and centering the mind. This class is appropriate for practitioners of all levels, with modifications shown for new students and students working with injuries, and variations are shown for more advanced practitioners.

Kundalini Yoga
In this Kundalini class suitable for all levels, we will focus on Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan through the practice of Kriya.  "Kriya" is an orchestrated pattern of movements, sound, pranayam, mudras, and meditation that automatically guide the energies of the body and the mind to a specific result or change of consciousness.  We awaken the kundalini in order to be able to call upon the full potential of the nervous and glandular systems and to balance the subtle system of chakras within the body.
Kundalini yoga derives its name through a focus on awakening kundalini energy through regular practice of meditation, pranayama, chanting mantra and yoga asana. Called by practitioners "the yoga of awareness", it aims "to cultivate the creative spiritual potential of a human to uphold values, speak truth, and focus on the compassion and consciousness needed to serve and heal others.
"The beauty of Kundalini Yoga  is that if you can just physically sit there, fix the automatic rhythm of your pranayam (breath control), add a creative naad (inner sound), your mind becomes focused and balanced.  In one Kriya you can immediately achieve a complete physical, mental, and spiritual balance.  It works so effectively and quickly because of this completeness, balance, and energy."
Not on schedule at this time:
Kripalu Level II/III - Core Strentgh

In this class we will practice yoga postures (asanas), yogic breath work (pranayama), meditation and relaxation techniques.  We will practice holding postures for longer periods (breaths) with a focus on Core Strengthening.  This class is appropriate for practitioners of who have some prior experience with yoga practitioners.

Yoga for Golfers (Your Authentic Swing) coming back 2018
The series will focus on enhancing flexibility, strengthening your core through the intentional movement of the body.  This will allow for better balance while increasing power to your swing.
How is it that golf is like yoga?  Explore the similarities of how the mind works while playing golf as well while on your yoga mat.  We will explore this through readings that are recommended but not required.  Readings include:
The Legend of Bagger Vance:  by Stephen Pressfield (You may also watch the film directed by Robert Redford).
The Bhagavad Gita - Song of the Lord: The Gita is a 700 verse Hindu scripture in Sanskrit that is a part of the Hindu epic Mahabharata.
(Again, this is not a requirement).  It is easier to read the first book mentioned above or watch the film unless you are interested in delving deeper into the study of yoga.
